Our Latest Adventure

So, I just started a different blog yesterday to keep my friends and family updated and realized that much of what we are trying to do will have an appeal to a much wider audience (and, in fact not be of much interest to many of our friends and family). Just within the last 2 weeks we finally moved into our new home in rural Utah, affectionately called the little red cabin. It is an upgrade/downgrade for us. It will be a little smaller than the house we sold last year and quite a bit less expensive but has a lot more land (almost 2 1/2 acres), which is something I've been wanting for several years. This blog will track our adventures as we attempt to finish our home, create our own little homestead, and just live, all as sustainably and toxin-free as we can. I hope this blog will eventually have a large audience and hopefully help others avoid some of our mistakes and learn from our successes along the way.

Hi, I just found your blog. We're in the process of buying a stone cottage on 8 acres and also hope to learn the art of self-sustainability. Looking for others that are like-minded...
